Magnet RAM Capture is a free digital forensics tool designed specifically to extract physical memory (RAM) from Windows computers. Capturing memory is crucial for investigators to recover valuable volatile evidence that would be lost if the system shuts down, such as running malware processes, network credentials, or decryption keys. The tool has a very small footprint and can be run directly from a USB thumb drive to minimize data overwriting (maintaining evidence integrity) on the suspect's system. The captured raw memory data can then be analyzed using Magnet AXIOM or other third-party memory analysis tools.
