Impact Of Hacking, Indodax Claims To Be Conducting A Digital Forensic Test

JAKARTA – Indodax CEO Oscar Darmawan said that his party is currently conducting a forensic related to alleged hacking of crypto asset transaction systems on its platform.

“We are still conducting a forensic to ensure the system is safe first and then we will revive the system. The member’s assets are 100 percent safe,” Oscar said in a statement to VOI on Thursday, September 12.

On the other hand, the Head of the Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency (CoFTRA), Kasan, said that they had summoned Indodax to provide clarification regarding the hacking incident.

“Coordinate with Indodax. We have also summoned Indodax to ask for clarification regarding the case. Currently, Indodax is in the process of investigating the system suspected of having experienced the hack,” Kasan explained in a written statement.

Kasan also explained that Indodax is currently closing the system thoroughly to ensure that all systems operate properly. For this reason, CoFTRA appealed to the public, especially Indodax customers, to remain calm and not panic.

Based on VOI’s monitoring, until now the Indodax website is still inaccessible and maintenance is still being carried out. Oscar has not answered when exactly the Indodax website will return to normal.

Meanwhile, at different times, the Director General of Informatics Applications (Aptica) Hokky Situngkir admitted to the media that the Kominfo continued to carry out the main tasks of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, and was still waiting for further directions.

“Of course doing the necessary things related to the main tasks of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, especially Aptika. We are still waiting for directions from the leadership, because only yesterday (it happened),” concluded Hokky.
